Official launch of operations at KONGRESSHALLE – The focus of the Congress Center Leipzig (CCL) in the 2015 business year was on the inauguration of the KONGRESSHALLE am Zoo Leipzig. By starting operations at this state-of-the-art conference venue in historic guise, convention business can be grown still further, contributing to the positive development of Leipzig as a conference city. With around 87,300 visitors and 86 events, the CCL continues the positive development it has enjoyed in recent years.
Successful connection: ICCA recognises 20-year membership of the CCL – The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) is currently holding its annual meeting in Buenos Aires. It is the main meeting of the umbrella organisation of the international convention industry. The event is attended by André Kaldenhoff, the Division Head of Leipziger Messe Conventions, who is also a member of the Executive Board. Congress Center Leipzig (CCL) has been a member of the ICCA for exactly 20 years.
CCL starts operating the KONGRESSHALLE am Zoo Leipzig – With the opening of the thoroughly renovated and reconstructed KONGRESSHALLE am Zoo in May, Congress Center Leipzig (CCL) took over the operation of a modern conference centre in the heart of the city. Even while renovation work was still underway, meeting planners showed considerable interest in the new venue. From autumn 2015, the first events feature on the venue’s calendar within a ‘pre-opening stage’.
KONGRESSHALLE am Zoo Leipzig – a modern venue for meetings in historic guise – From 2016, a new modern venue in historic guise will add to Leipzig’s appeal as a meeting destination: the KONGRESSHALLE am Zoo Leipzig. After thorough renovation and reconstruction, the venerable Wilhelminian-style edifice radiates new splendor and sets a perfect scene for meetings and events right in the heart of the city. The facility will be operated by Congress Center Leipzig (CCL), which belongs to the Leipzig trade Fair Group. It looks back on many years of national and international meetings industry experience and has powerful networks to contribute to the new venue’s success.
