Leipzig's artistic landscape
A journey of discovery through epochs and genres
Thanks to the work of painter Neo Rauch, pathfinder for the New Leipzig School, the Leipzig art scene has enjoyed the limelight for some considerable time now. Yet the city has far more to offer than that: from its historical works to the avant-garde, Leipzig's major collections and exhibitions continue to draw the crowds of art lovers. The Museum of Fine Art, the Gallery for Contemporary Art, the Grassi Museum, the Old Cotton Mill and the city's numerous studios and galleries offer an extensive repertoire of painting and sculpture.
